Riding The Shorpy Line
I want to take a moment to very highly recommend Shorpy, “the 100-Year-Old Photo Blog.” I tend to get bored with photoblogs fairly quickly, but Shorpy has kept me quite interested for a full week! Russell Lee’s Pie Town photos are excellent, but what really captures my attention are the incredible railroad photos, particularly these by Jack Delano, “Can I Get A Loaner?”, Night Freight, and Locomotive Dreams, from 1942-1943. Amazing, amazing work.
