The Search Is Over

After living near Jimmy Carter Boulevard for 3 years now, we have finally found a Mexican restaurant that we really like: El Amigo (The Friend). Can you imagine how frustrating it’s been to live in an area like this and yet not know of a good Mexican restaurant? Sure, there’s the Frontera, but that’s just a little too OTP for our tastes.

I had the Mexican Sausage, which was, er, mexican sausage cooked with onions and bacon, topped with cheese, surrounded by slices of avocado, whole jalapeƱos, and tomatoes, served with made-fresh corn or flour tortillas. Delicious. Jessica had the chicken burrito, and I can confirm her claims that it was Very Good. They served chips and three kinds of salsa, too, which were tasty. There were no less than six urinals in the men’s room. The only downside is that a mariachi band (not with a harp) was warming up. Thankfully we paid and escaped before they were unleashed.

On the way home we stopped in at the AMF Gwinnett Lanes, which had one lane in use, to see if they had any pinball machines. Lo and behold, in the bar area (not in the kids arcade), they had a Revenge From Mars! It was playing pretty well, so we burnt a couple bucks in it and resolved to return. (I played terribly, but had a few respectable games later at home. The right scoop/ejector was firing balls SDTM, which we only figured out how to counter (hold a flipper and it weakens the ejector) during our last game. Sigh.)
