Later That Very Same Day…

What with it being such a beautiful afternoon, we decided to drive over to Lenox and score some more ticks on Jessica’s pedometer (a contest her workplace is conducting). While en route, we met with an immaculate 1993 Mercedes who, unfortunately, turned across our lane as we were crossing Buford Hwy at Lenox Rd. The front passenger side of my Jeep struck their front passenger side as well. There were no human injuries, although Jessica’s foot is unhappy, having struck the glove compartment as we collided. The Jeep and Mercedes were not too badly crunched up in front, but enough to be undriveable. They were very nice people; it’s unfortunate that we met under such circumstances.

Still, it’s been a pleasant evening and, overall, a great day.

Additional Impressions: I neglected to mention that the Atlanta Police were very professional and courtesey. After the wrecker took the Jeep away they gave us our choice of “place of safety” to be delivered to. We chose Phipps Plaza, and so the scene at the Cadillac Valet where the well-appointed shoppers were waiting for their cars was quite amusing as the patrol car pulled up and we climbed out of the back. It’s quite cramped in there, but otherwise the ride was nice.

Thanks to Jeff for taking the time to drive down from Alpharetta to pick us up. We treated him to a luxury (but tasty) dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory (or “spag fag“, as some people were calling it).

Oh man… that is unfortunate. I hope that Jessica’s foot makes a quick recovery.

Oh, the humanity… glad to hear no one’s seriously injured, but really, how much more punishment can your poor Jeep take?

No kidding. This is its third front-end collision. One deer, one stupid mis-maneuver on my part, and now this.

The police were professional and courtesy? That’s pretty amazing, in my experience that hasn’t been the case. That’s the sort of thing I’d only expect from the Ship Moving Company.

    Nooo…! Not the Jeep!

We’re all hoping for a quick recovery for all injured parties, both human and auto.

I keep seeing the phrase, ” The cops were professional and courtesey!” Maybe it’s the writter in me, but shouldn’t it say, ” The cops were professional and courteous?”
Since courtesey is a noun, and courteous is a verb. Just a writer’s thought.

You’re right, Anonymous. :) ’twas a hat tip to the departed Prophet Omega, who advertised his sponsor, The Ship Moving Company, as being “very professional and courtesey.”
