Married!

On Sunday, December 18th, at 6:00pm, Jessica and I were married! After looking forward to this day for what seems like such a long time, it’s amazing how quickly it’s crept up on us. Suddenly it was Saturday and time for the rehearsal dinner, and then before I knew it the guests were arriving and I was trying to remember what I wanted to say for my side of the vows. And then Jessica appeared, unspeakably beautiful, walking down the aisle with her parents, and everything went off perfectly. I even smashed the glass on the first try! (According to Chap, I “shook the room.”)

After photos with the bridal party, we danced and visited with guests at the reception. To be sure, we wish we could have done more visiting with guests, but part of the problem with supplying the DJ with a list of songs that you want played is that you want to dance to all the songs you want played! Our wedding cake was beautiful, but in my biased opinion, the Groom’s Cake was amazing. Before too long it was time to get going, and we hopped into the Jeep, which had been slogan-ized in pink letters and hearts (”Love Vessel One” painted across the back window) and thoroughly wrapped in toilet paper. Joe had managed to get his Whitesnake CD in my CD player, with “Slide It In” playing as we left the reception.

While the official photos are not yet available, you can peruse Chap’s photos of the event (the photo accompanying this entry was taken by him). Unfortunately the most popular photo seems to be of when I dropped Jessica during a dance — we had a little miscommunication about whether I was dipping her or not. Thankfully it was an extremely gentle drop. My zero-traction shoes turned out to be both a blessing and a curse. Thanks for taking all of these, and the Polaroids, Chap.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for joining us. It was wonderful to see so many friends and family members there to celebrate our marriage with us. Thanks to Judge Jay Roth, our absolutely wonderful officiant, and to Mike, my Best Man, as well as Glenn@Brother, Scott, Joe, and Jeff, my groomsmen. If Jessica had a blog, I’m sure she’d want to use it to thank Tracy, Jennifer, and Melanie for their support, too. And, from both of us, especially our parents, who did an incredible job helping us with everything, and, well, raising us to be the people we are today, such that we’re actually the kind of person another can fall in love with. Hah!

“Shook the room” - that’s an understatement. It would be better classified as a seismic event.

    Congratulations again to you guys.

P.S. I think we need some photos of Love Vessel One before the paint washes off!

    Adam,

Being the son of a mechanic has its privillages. (Picking locks) However I DON’T CONDONE THIS. As for the glass smash, You thought you shook the room? You should’ve gone downstaires, and seen the concrete in the urinal that fell from the ceiling. I agree with Chap you need some pics of the vessel. Especially the back window from the drivers seat perspective in the rear view mirror. Have a Merry Christmas, and enjoy y’alls honeymoon. Say hello to Jessica for me.

    P.S.

That’s your Whitesnake love making CD now.

    P.S.S.

Have a happy B day too!
