I woke up at 5:00am this morning with my stomach talking, mumbling actually, and so when 5:45am rolled around and I was still trying to go back to sleep, I hatched a plan to come to work early and leave early. I have executed that plan.

By 6:00am I was on the road, noticing that things looked quite similar to the way they did last night at 9:30pm as I was driving home. People drive much faster at this time of the day, however. Armed with my camera, I paused at the stop light at Pleasantdale and I-85. I think I had some fantasy of photographing the rising sun, or some sign of it, but the sky was dark. I settled for an unremarkable photograph of my car stereo displaying the time.

By 6:20 I was in my office, still incredibly dark outside. The eastern sky is starting to lighten a tad, so that may be the sun creeping up now. In that case I’d better actually start working.
