X&Y
X&Y arrived on Wednesday. I started it ripping and promptly went to lunch. Trying to listen to it during the day, I just couldn’t get into it. I listened to a couple songs on the way home and contemplated the possibility that I’d grown past Coldplay. It had been a couple years since I was listening to them a lot.
Rain fell as Wednesday turned to Thursday. (Poetic segue, huh?) By Thursday’s drive home I’d latched onto a few songs toward the end of the album. And now I’m at home on a Friday night listening to the album through my half-passable Powerbook speakers because I’ve got to. It snuck up on me: this album is suddenly whupping my ass.

If you happened to be at Adam’s house on Friday night, the scene looked something like this. This kinda makes me hesitant to buy my own copy of X+Y. After reading this blog entry, I’ve come to the realization that I need to carefully pick and choose what type of musician I would want “whupping” my own ass. I’d rather it be someone who looks like this, than a bunch of British guys that look like this. Who’s with me on this?

How strange!!! My beautiful GIS picture of Shakira has been taken off that site’s server! Well here’s another one of her that is guaranteed not to fail…right here.
