Making A Movie - Quickly
Wired has an article about a competition in which several groups are given one day to make a 3 1/2 minute movie which must include the following ingredients: “a close-up of a street sign, the words ’spirit world’ in conversation, and someone stepping on something” They start in the morning and turn in their MiniDV tapes at 7:30 that evening.
For some time now (years) I’ve been wanting to make a short, but I’ve been holding out for a great idea to come along that seemed worth it. Or would justify buying a camera to suit my ridiculously high picture/sound quality standards. This competition is great inspiration, though. Instead of waiting for inspiration to strike, why not just get out there and try to make something? Here’s hoping that before too long I can post the results of such an experiment here.
