Leaving Las Vegas
Friends, it’s time for one of those great “I’m blogging to you from the airport” posts. Cindy and I are here at McCarran Int’l, which has free WiFi! Amazing. Which raises the question: Why doesn’t Hartsfield (sorry, Hartsfield-Jackson), the (former?) busiest airport in the country, have this? In Delta’s Concourse B, departing, the best I could get was a weak signal emanating from the Ultra-Platinum Pork Medallion Club. And it was $29.95/month.
It’s been quite a week here… 8 nights of Las Vegas. More than I’ve been on vacation in any one place in recent memory, actually, although it would be difficult to call any more than half of this trip a “vacation.” More later, but I will say that I actually managed to gamble this time. $40 at a $5 blackjack table along with Colin and Chap. It was fun when I was up (about $20), sad when I was down ($40). I meant to try it again, but the mood never struck. I even downloaded a blackjack app to my cell phone in order to practice the “Standard Strategy,” but it was not to be. Cindy played a good bit of craps… I won’t comment on how successful/unsuccessful she was.
Sadly, it is time to board the plane. More to come this week, including (hopefully) photographs of the beautiful Red Rock Canyon, and (as requested) Cindy.

One can only hope that all of the peanuts will be complimentary…
LOL

You stole my title! I’m sitting at the gate in McCarran right now and was going to make a nearly identical post before I saw your. I guess I’ll hold it now. This does rocket McCarran to the top of my airport list now, though. Sadly Atlanta Dead-Mayors International is still near the bottom bested only by O’Hare in sheer awful-ness.

TIA is slowly getting in free WiFi, which is nice because they turned down T-Mobile and their craptastic subscription service in favor of keeping it open to everyone.
Hartsfield is currently not on my list of favorite airports for a huge number of reasons. Thankfully, it still isn’t as low a Dulles.
Hope the tables treated you well! How was The Bunnyranch?

Behold! I have the first pictures of Adam and Cindy known to exist from the infamous Vegas trip. It does appear like they had a good time. Jealous? I know I am!

Oh-my.
Well - Adam was wise not to comment on how ’successful/unsuccessful’ I was at the craps table - let’s just say the urge to play craps has dissipated. Hopefully for good.
I cannot comment on Adam’s skills at the blackjack table as his only play was before I arrived, however, I do know that he became very proficient, at least on his cell phone, in BASIC strategy (if not the name)…
As for pictures - I guess we’ll see what he pulls out of his bag of tricks on that one…

Hit #31 for a GIS on “bag of tricks”. Adam clearly has stiff competition in this department, what with the continuing dominance of Magic Bob.
