Quinn Snider, Cub Reporter

Exclusive to 1128 - our cub reporter in Nashville went to see Clem Snide (whose new album, End of Love, was released on Tuesday) perform at Grimey’s, a record store in town. In lieu of an actual report, he agreed to submit to a Q&A session. The transcript - unedited except where noted- is presented below:

1128: Name and occupation? CR: Blue and mechanic.
1128: Describe the setting for tonight’s concert.
CR: Bleak, yet bonerific.
1128: Describe the crowd in attendance. Size? Demographics?
CR: Eskimos… about 3′10″. Spear-throwing pygmy dwarfs. All riding miniature ponies.
1128: I wasn’t aware that Grimey’s admitted patrons with their mounts.
CR: No, they just allow mounting the patrons. Which was an activity I ferociously took part in.
1128: I see.
CR: Wow… I’m sleepy as if I ate a hamdog for Thanksgiving.
1128: Do you recall the setlist?
CR: I most certainly do not. I had on headphones the whole time.
1128: What were you listening to?
CR: Yanni: Live at the Acropolis. What can I say? I love Greek men!
1128: How was frontman Eef Barzelay’s acoustic performance received by the crowd?
CR: Surprise, at first, followed by anger and deep resentment.
1128: Can you comment on the nature of the ill feelings of the crowd?
CR: Lack of pants, and bad breath. Or some kind of [edit]
1128: I’m afraid that’s all the time we have for now.
CR: Get stuffed.
1128: Thank you for your time.
