Tom Moreland Interchange

Glenn (Mike Siegle) and I went out to the Northcrest Rd overpass tonight to photograph the intersection of I-285 and I-85 on the north end, a.k.a. Tom Moreland Interchange, a.k.a. Spaghetti Junction. Thanks to Glenn for watching my back.

I’ve been wanting to take these photos for a couple months now, and decided I couldn’t wait until it got warmer: DOT workers seem to be fencing in all of the overpasses, which would make taking these photographs impossible in the future. (I can only guess that they are doing this on account of the rash of overpass-jumpers we had this past year. Thanks, losers. Some people should just go ahead and kill themselves. …)

Update: One is available larger on Flickr.

Extremely awesome photos, Adam. I’ve been thinking of taking similar, here, but there is literally no place to take the photographs from. Thats what I get for living in a place with zero elevation.

I would take pictures like that here in Nashville, but the horse and buggies don’t light up on the freeway at night. One day we’ll get these new-fangled “automobiles” up here on them there roads.
