Turkey on the Mountain

[gallery=”117_1729″ title=”Glenn and Pie” class=”left”] For Thanksgiving I met up with the family on the mountain. I had been warned to drive “2 or 3 miles per hour” on the road on the mountaintop; it was reportedly foggier than it had ever been. True enough, the visibility was unbelievably low - if I hadn’t thought there was a good chance of getting hit while stopping to take a photo, I’d have tried to take a photo of my view from the driver’s seat. Moving along at 20mph, then down to 10 as I got close to the house, I ran right over a pretty sizable tree limb - it came into view in the headlights right as it went under the car. No time to slow down, certainly no time to swerve. I pulled up to the house without any trouble, but others weren’t so lucky.

When I wasn’t watching James Bond (why did Spike TV run “The World is Not Enough” on two consecutive nights? Subquestion: Why was I liking it?), I played around with Xcode and Cocoa on the PowerBook, writing a little program in Objective-C, which turns out to be a cross between C and Smalltalk. So far so good. Now I just need to dream up a useful application to write!
